The Horse Boy tells the story of a couple that goes to the end of the earth to find a way into their son's life
Date: 05/25/2018 at 7:00pm

(0 A May 2018) HorseBoy.jpgThe Horse Boy does more than chronicle Rowan and his parents' journey across the vast, wild landscape of Mongolia. It delves into the strange world of autism itself, the relationship between humans and animals and between different cultures and different ways of being (autistic vs. normal, or "neuro-typical"), and the nature of healing.

Audiences hear the varied theories on autism from the experts in the field, well-known researchers of autism such as Dr. Simon Baron-Cohen of Cambridge University; Dr. Temple Grandin, recovered autist and professor of animal behavior at Colorado State University; and anthropologist and researcher Roy Richard Grinker of George Washington University.

Above all, The Horse Boy tells the story of a couple that goes to the end of the earth to find a way into their son's life.

The Felton Remembers Parade & Covered Bridge Festival

The Felton Remembers Parade is an annual parade held on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, to honor the lives of the brave men and women who died while serving in our country's armed forces. The parade also pays tribute to surviving veterans and families of fallen soldiers.

The Covered Bridge Festival is in its 29th year! The festival has been held on memorial day weekend every year since 1989. The original purpose of the festival was to raise funds for to repair the Felton Covered Bridge. Now that the bridge has been restored, funds raised from the festival are used to put on other community events in the town of Felton, including the Felton Remembers Parade, the annual Tree Lighting ceremony, etc.

The 31st annual Covered Bridge Festival, and Memorial Day Parade commemorates our veterans and community members who have sacrificed for our Community and Nation, and celebrating our local community organizations!
The Memorial Day Parade goes from 10:00-11:30am
The Covered Bridge Festival goes from 11:00-5:00pm

History of the Bridge

Construction was completed on The Felton Covered Bridge in September of 1892. For roughly 40 years, the bridge served as the main crossing of the San Lorenzo River, carrying horses, bicycles, and automobiles to and from Scotts Valley and beyond. In 1937, construction began on a new concrete bridge, which made the covered bridge obsolete. Thanks to the efforts of many dedicated individuals, the bridge has been preserved ever since.

Musical adventure, a tale of thrilling escapes, comedy and inspiration for the whole family.
Date: Every day (May 18-May 27)

(0 A May 2018) CYT_TomSawyer2018.jpgThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer is the irresistible story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America, based on the classic novel. Filled with foot-stomping, toe-tapping songs by Don Schlitz ("The Gambler") and with a book by Ken Ludwig, this musical adventure is a tale of thrilling escapes, comedy and inspiration for the whole family.

Set in 1840 Missouri, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is the tale of young Tom Sawyer and the never ending mischief of which he so often finds himself a part; whether it's matching wits with Aunt Polly, tricking his friends into whitewashing a fence for him or narrowly escaping the clutches of a murderous villain. Along with his best friend, Huckleberry Finn, and his love interest, Becky Thatcher, the greatest Tom Sawyer exploits are plucked from the book and plopped onto the stage.

Aside from having one of the most recognizable titles from literary history, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a superb family-friendly show.
