Community Open House

    Tri-county residents enjoy free admission during our annual Community Open House. Visitors must present a photo ID (student IDs also accepted) or proof of residence, such as a current utility bill, at the Main Entrance.

To show appreciation for our local community, we're offering a variety of special promotions throughout 2018 to residents of Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties (valid identification required). Visitors must present a photo ID (student IDs also accepted) or proof of residence, such as a current utility bill, at the Main Entrance.

 

All offers are valid on site only. Guests of local tri-county residents must pay regular admission prices.

 

Free admission is good during regular aquarium hours,! from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

 

Guests from outside Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito County - including relatives or friends of local residents - can accompany local residents, but will be charged regular admission fees.

 

Community Open House is made possible in part by the support of our Business Partners.

LTriple P Workshops are brief classes that provide quick tips for handling everyday parenting issues. Attend this FREE parenting workshop to learn: How to recognize warning signs that your teen might be using drugs; Tips for teaching teens to resist peer pressure to use drugs; Steps to take if you think your teen is using drugs.

This Triple P Workshop is FREE and open to the public. Free child care is available with advance registration. Light snacks will be provided for adults and children.

Positive Discipline for Parents of Preschoolers (2-5 yrs.) class series

This 8-week (16-hour) class series (tailored specifically for parents of preschoolers) provides parents with all the concepts and tools needed to implement Positive Discipline in the home/family setting.  Some of the prominent themes include early child brain development, social emotional learning, belonging and significance as innate social needs, the essential nature of long-term positive parent-child relationships, mutual respect, modeling behaviors, authoritative parenting styles that use kindness and firmness at the same time, connection before correction, the criteria for effective discipline, agreements and follow-through, non-violent communication, family meetings, routines, and the internal locus of control that guides parents and children alike to practice self-regulation.
