Positive Discipline for Parents of Preschoolers (2-5 yrs.) intensive class series

What: This 8-week (8-hour) class series (tailored specifically for parents of preschoolers) provides parents with all the concepts and tools needed to implement Positive Discipline in the home/family setting.  Some of the prominent themes include early child brain development, social emotional learning, belonging and significance as innate social needs, the essential nature of long-term positive parent-child relationships, mutual respect, modeling behaviors, authoritative parenting styles that use kindness and firmness at the same time, connection before correction, the criteria for effective discipline, agreements and follow-through, non-violent communication, family meetings, routines, and the internal locus of control that guides parents and children alike to practice self-regulation.  

  
Facilitated by Colleen Murphy, Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, ECE co-op teacher with over 16 years of ECE teaching experience both with children and as a parent educator.

Stepping Stones Triple P Workshop for families with children with special needs: Tips for Mealtimes
Thursday, September 19, 5:30 - 7 pm
Stepping Stones Triple P offers parenting support for families with children with special needs, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome and other developmental delays. Stepping Stones Triple P Workshops are brief classes that provide quick tips for handling everyday parenting issues. Attend this Stepping Stones Triple P Workshop to learn: How to teach children to feed themselves independently; Tips for handling challenging behaviors at mealtimes; How to encourage children to eat a wider variety of healthy foods; Tips for handling other issues that make mealtimes challenging for children with special needs.

This Stepping Stones Triple P Workshop is FREE and open to the public. Free child care is available with advance registration. Light snacks will be provided for children and adults.

Navigating the Teen Years with Positive Discipline intensive class series

This 4-week (8-hour) intensive class series (tailored specifically for parents of teens and tweens, as well as for coaches and teachers) provides all the concepts and tools needed to implement Positive Discipline in the home/family/school setting.  Some of the prominent themes include the adolescent brain, social-emotional learning, seeking identity, belonging, and significance, the essential role of parents during this very challenging time, mutual respect, establishing and upholding limits around screentime, connection before correction, power struggles, and talking with tweens/teens about sex and drugs.

Cost: $60 per person -- $100 couples special -- $30 per person if taken as a refresher. $20 for the PD book which is sold separately and is optional.
