Natural Bridges Children's Center
Inspiring Children, Creating Community, Building Bridges
Date: 11/11/2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Ages: Preschool

(0 July 2017) NBCC_KarynAllieJonnie.jpgBring the family and come join us in celebrating our Grand Opening-Open House Saturday November 11th from 10-12pm.

Visit our Play & 'Inquiry Based Learning' preschool a block from West Cliff Drive on the iconic site of the previous Natural Bridges Elementary School.

We look forward to sharing our Mission, Vision, & Philosophy and to watching the children play, smile, & explore to their hearts content.

Our team of experienced & loving educators have been committed to, and working in the field of early childhood education for over three decades. We have studied with the many legends before us who have paved the way for children's rights and for preschool teacher advocacy. We carry this torch with a deep passion. Our love of child development and of building community drives our belief that all human beings can grow, learn, & prosper, and that we can all live peacefully in this world.

Informed by brain research, we understand that deep learning begins in the early years and it is during these years that compassion for self and others, growth mindsets for learning, and a respect for mother earth are cultivated.

Our team is dedicated to helping young learners develop a love for the environment, a sense of empathy, and the appropriate skills to navigate through any challenge! With these foundations, all academic learning can flourish.

We specialize in creating a caring and inclusive environment where families and children support one another. It is our hope that through the building of bridges between home, school, the community, and local and state agencies, we can create a ‘safe village' to raise healthy and happy children!

We invite you to share in our joy.

'Melissa, So Far'

popouts1748-Melissa,-So-Far-1748-popoutGateway School believes there isn't enough conversation around gender identity, particularly at a young age. With this in mind, Gateway's middle school production of Melissa, So Far tells the story of a transgender fourth grader who feels disconnected from the body she was born with.

Originally based on the novel, George by Alex Gino, the main character is initially bullied and isolated because of her identity, but finds solace and support in her friends and family.

The performance takes aim at and promotes the important conversation around gender identity at all ages. Support a greater conversation around transgender identity and meet the author and playwright during its second ever performance.

Few perspectives on American society have been as insightful or as poignant as that of young Scout Finch, the heroine of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird.

Adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, this moving play follows Scout's journey as her father, Atticus, defends Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. As the trial progresses, Scout and her brother, Jem, witness their community divided over issues of justice and racism.

How do students know if Kirby is a good fit? A shadow day is an ideal way to find out
Date: Every Mon (Nov 1-May 1)
Ages: Family Admission Fees: FREE

Shadow Day

How do students know if Kirby is a good fit? A shadow day is an ideal way to find out. We will pair your student with a student host with similar interests. Together they will experience a "day in the life" at Kirby. They will attend classes together, hang out with other Kirby students, and enjoy lunch with their host and some of their friends.

How it works:

  • Monday is our preferred shadow day because of our block schedule. However, a shadow day can be scheduled any day of the week.
  • Student shadows are treated to a hot lunch made fresh in our kitchen.
  • Schedule your shadow day through the Admissions Office. Call (831) 423-0658 ×202.
