Jewish Film Festival
Really great Jewish films!
Date: Every day (Mar 30-Apr 4)
Admission Fees: Suggested donation $20 per person, $35 per couple, includes all movies and reception. No one turned away for lack of funds!

Established in 2000, the Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival was inspired by the mutual love of Jewish film and baseball. We began with a single film, The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg, about the first Jewish ballplayer in the major leagues.

With support from sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and patrons, the SCJFF has blossomed into a highly regarded cultural event. The festival is operated under the 501(c)3 charter of the Santa Cruz Jewish Community Center, Temple Beth El of Aptos.

Mission

Our mission is to bring high quality Jewish-themed independent films to Santa Cruz. We proudly share the richness and diversity of the Jewish experience through the magical lens of film.

We seek to increase awareness of Jewish culture, history, and identity while building bridges across the spectrum of humanity.

We seek to entertain our audiences with globally diverse, award-winning feature and documentary films that encourage dialogue among people and promote empathy with the Jewish experience.

We respect all peoples and cultures and do not advocate or promote any political position or religion.

Mountain Community Theater
A new comedy featuring four sassy, smart, and savvy older women
Date: Every day (Mar 15-Apr 7)
Ages: 12+

(0 A 0 March) MCT_FourOldBroads.jpgFour Old Broads is a new comedy featuring four sassy, smart, and savvy older women who are living at the Magnolia Place Assisted Living home. With fast-paced and quick-witted dialogue, it has been called "a laugh-out-loud hysterical play with a whole lot of heart."

The play revolves around retired burlesque queen Beatrice Shelton who desperately needs a vacation, but NOT another trip to see that "precious little German village for the umpteenth time." She dreams of a trip through the Caribbean on a "Sassy Seniors Cruise," but encounters obstacles along the way, including the evil Nurse Pat Jones. Much laughter ensues as the gals try to solve a mystery at Magnolia Place by going under-cover. If they can solve the mystery, they may make it to the cruise ship after all.
