Positive Discipline for Parents of Preschoolers (2-5 yrs.) intensive class series

What: This 8-week (8-hour) class series (tailored specifically for parents of preschoolers) provides parents with all the concepts and tools needed to implement Positive Discipline in the home/family setting.  Some of the prominent themes include early child brain development, social emotional learning, belonging and significance as innate social needs, the essential nature of long-term positive parent-child relationships, mutual respect, modeling behaviors, authoritative parenting styles that use kindness and firmness at the same time, connection before correction, the criteria for effective discipline, agreements and follow-through, non-violent communication, family meetings, routines, and the internal locus of control that guides parents and children alike to practice self-regulation.

Facilitated by Colleen Murphy, Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, ECE co-op teacher with over 16 years of ECE teaching experience both with children and as a parent educator.

Camp, hike the mountains of the south coast, repose in flowing streams, hunt for jade and jasper, surf, boogie board, and play .
Date: Every day (Oct 15-Oct 19)
Ages: Ages 3 and up Admission Fees: $40/day

In true ASU fashion we are gearing up for another family camping adventure in Big Sur at Plaskett Creek Campground! We love what Big Sur has to offer in October. Generally warm temperatures, clear seas, and tons of delicious fish!
On this excursion we invite folks of all ages (some may have to call in well to work or school;) but it's always an adventure to remember.

As the compressed air is a scarcity at 2.5 hours from our compressor, this will be primarily a free-diving mission, although everyone is welcome to tank dive on their own accord.

We provide a comfy kitchen all set up when you arrive, all you have to do is bring your sleeping quarters and blankets!

Cost is $40/night

More details can be found here:)
