Rodoni Farms
Great local place to pick your pumpkin right from the field and have fun in the corn maze!
Date: Every day (Sep 22-Oct 31)

Special Instructions: 4 miles North of Santa Cruz, California on Hwy. 1

Pumpkins are HERE!!

(Special Event Images / Graphics) RodoniFarm_photo.jpg

Pumpkins and fun are what it's all about! Come roam through the fields of pumpkins. There are so many varieties to choose from! We have hay bales, scary cutouts, and a 5 acre corn maze! We also have fresh Brussels sprouts on the stalk, artichokes, corn stalks, and gourds.
**Pumpkins are priced by size, not weight.

Choosing your pumpkin:
There are two methods of choosing your pumpkin to carve. The first way is my favorite. As you stroll through the pumpkin patch a certain individual pumpkin will jump out at you! That's the ONE! The other method is to have a pattern or face in mind and look for a pumpkin that will work with your design. Usually a large stem makes a nice addition to the pumpkin.
Remember!. The more unusual the better!

  • Bring your camera! There are many fun photo spots!
  • Come spend the day by the California coastline and hand pick your Halloween pumpkin!
  • We are open every daily, 9 AM - 6 PM from October 1st through Halloween. After Halloween we will remain open on the honor system until Christmas.
  • We are dog friendly. We kindly ask that you keep them on a leash at all times and pick-up after them, if need be.
  • CASH OR CHECK ONLY PLEASE.

From river to sea, chaparral to marsh, and rustic to urban, creatures both wild and domestic, marine and terrestrial, historic and contemporary inhabit her park pathways in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.

Explore these iconic Santa Cruz views and discover them for yourself in our abundant parks and open spaces.

Opening Reception for Members: October 5th, 6-8pm
Meet the Artist: December 7th, 6-8pm. Free to the public.

About the Artist:

Ann Elizabeth Thiermann, MFA is inspired by living, hiking, and painting in beautiful Santa Cruz County. Her creativity is fueled by her artistic family, Sylvie, the studio cat, her folk dancing friends, teaching and leading art trips abroad. In addition to painting landscapes and murals, daily joy comes from swimming, camping, and visiting the farmer's market and working in her garden. Movement in her art is reinforced by her time playing organ, piano and harpsichord as a church musician.

Cost: $7 per person + $3.99 reservation fee

www.parks.ca.gov/anonuevo

Journey to view a large colony of Northern elephant seals, guided by your docent naturalist on this moderate 3-mile, 2.5 hour adventure. In the month of December, male elephant seals, or bulls, arrive along the shore of Año Nuevo State Park to establish hierarchy, while pregnant females come ashore to birth to their pups.

These popular guided walks take place rain or shine, so be prepared for windy, rainy conditions as well as muddy trails. Layered clothing, sturdy shoes, and rain gear is strongly advised. Umbrellas and strollers are not permitted. Pets are not allowed in the park. Parking is $10. For more information, please call (650) 879-2025 or for recorded information (650) 879-0227.

People with accessibility needs may reserve an equal access tour along the boardwalk.

These tours take place on Fridays, weekends, and select holidays. For reservations and info call ReserveCalifornia at 1-800-444-4445. Events made possible by Coastside State Parks Association and California State Parks.

Self-Guided Seal Walks

Daily, between 8:30am and 3:30pm (Natural Preserve closes at 5pm)

Stroll over sand dunes, enjoy beautiful ocean views, and gain a unique opportunity to view a large colony of Northern elephant seals on this 3-mile, 2.5-hour self-guided trail! Visit the female elephant seals as they return to shore to molt, or shed their fur, in this annual excursion.  Additionally, young pups are still ashore from the winter breeding season. Layered clothing, closed-toes shoes, and rain/wind gear are strongly advised. Umbrellas and strollers are not permitted inside the dune area. Pets are not allowed in the park. Walk is free; day-use vehicle fee is $10. Entrance to the reserve for your self-guided walk requires a free permit that can be obtained at the entrance station, or the Visitor Center. If you require mobility assistance, you may request a volunteer-led equal access tour. You will board our accessible van and get a ride to our wheelchair-accessible boardwalk. A volunteer(s) will accompany you to the two seal-viewing decks, explain the Northern elephant seal natural history, the history of the park, and answer questions. Reservations are required. Please, allow a 2-week advance notice. The volunteer led tour is free, day-use vehicle fee is $10. Contact the park at 650-879-2033 or email Ano.EqualAccess@parks.ca.gov. Parenting evokes a full spectrum of emotions with higher intensity than many other experiences. Knowing how to deal with the intensity of these emotions both personally and with your kids can be difficult and challenging to navigate.

Wouldn't it be satisfying to connect rather than ignore, react, or pretend with your kids. Becoming the CEO of your reactions provides you tools to authentically deepen and live in relationships filled with connection, love and understanding.

I am so inspired to teach after being nourished by all the faculty at 1440 Multiversity like Dan Siegel, Dr. Shefali, a Brene Brown trainer, Liz Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed plus so many more.

I have also practiced my own 5 Steps to Connect during challenging times at work with my attachments to 'doing well', competency, striving to be superwoman, keeping an impossible amount of balls in the air, and being a learner instead of 'the knowing' one. As you can imagine it has triggered all my stuff. Of course then there is home life with teens, attitude, setting boundaries (which I am terrible at and gives me stomach aches), all with my husband which just adds another layer.

This work isn't easy, but it is Life Enriching and so worthwhile!

Come learn in community.

Allison is a mother of two teenage daughters. She is a conflict resolution mediator, a workshop leader and works at 1440 Multiversity. She started this work in 2005 when she was seeking a better way to relate to her oldest, spirited child, who was then four.
