Positive Discipline for Parents of Preschoolers (2-5 yrs.) class series

This 8-week (16-hour) class series (tailored specifically for parents of preschoolers) provides parents with all the concepts and tools needed to implement Positive Discipline in the home/family setting.  Some of the prominent themes include early child brain development, social emotional learning, belonging and significance as innate social needs, the essential nature of long-term positive parent-child relationships, mutual respect, modeling behaviors, authoritative parenting styles that use kindness and firmness at the same time, connection before correction, the criteria for effective discipline, agreements and follow-through, non-violent communication, family meetings, routines, and the internal locus of control that guides parents and children alike to practice self-regulation.

Learn effective tools to help teenagers
Date: The last Wed of every month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Support Group for Parents of Teens

This is a monthly meeting where parents of teenagers can share their challenges, problem-solve together, and find support. The group is open to parents of teens all throughout Santa Cruz County. These groups are based on the principles of Positive Discipline but will be led in a support group format as opposed to an instructional class.

 

Last Wednesday of every month from 6:30pm-8pm

 

Branciforte Small Schools Campus Library, at 840 N. Branciforte Ave., Santa Cruz. Parking and entrance are in the back.

Facilitated by Stephanie Tam Rosas, MA, PDCR's Board President and a Certified Positive Discipline Parent and Teacher Educator. She currently works with youth in Santa Cruz County and has worked closely with teen moms, foster youth, and domestic violence survivors. Visit tamrosas.com for more info.
