You can sign up starting September 13th 2018 by visiting googlesciencefair.com and clicking on the Start your project button. If you're not sure where to start, you can get help by taking a look at our Student resources and checking out some out some of our previous winners.

 

 

This competition is open to full-time and home-schooled students around the world, between ages of 13 and 18 (these ages are slightly different in a few countries like Israel, South Korea and Europe). See the Official Rules for more details.

Wilder Ranch State Park invites you to experience old-time activities from its rancho, dairy farm, and cowboy rodeo days. Hands-on activities and living history presentations may include butter churning, ice cream making, roping skills, and demonstrations in the ranch buildings. Come for a picnic on the lawn and follow it up with a game of tug of war, sack races, hoops, stilts, and Wilder Ranch's famous old-fashioned bubbles! This event is appropriate for all ages. It is open to walkers and runners of all ages and fitness levels. Funds raised will support Boys & Girls Club and Santa Cruz County Parks athletic programs, activities, and facilities.

Schedule of Events

7:30AM Registration/Check-In Begins at Shoreline Middle School Parking Lot

8:30AM 5/10k Race Begins *

*5k runners will run from Shoreline Middle School to Pleasure Point and back ONCE

*10k runners will run from Shoreline Middle School to Pleasure Point and back TWICE

9:30AM Family Fun Run (3k) begins*

*Family Fun Run runners will turn around at 26th Ave (signs will be posted). Family Fun Run participates are not required to run the race, they may also walk. Strollers welcome!

10:00AM-1:00PM Fun, family activities on Shoreline Field and at Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County's Live Oak Clubhouse. Food, drinks, and games will be provided.

*After the race you will receive a goodie bag!

ARRIVAL
Please arrive at least a half hour before your race start time to check-in and receive your bib.

PARKING will be available at Simpkins Family Swim Center, Shoreline Middle School, Del Mar Elementary (MUST arrive before 8:00am- 17th Avenue will be closed between Felt Street and Portola Drive until the race is complete), Live Oak Elementary, and at East Cliff Shopping Center (Dollar Tree).
Your MUST sign waivers during registration online and bring an ID day of event.

Wear comfortable running clothes and prepare to start cold and get warm throughout the morning. Wear appropiate running shoes, hat, sunscreen, and running attire. There will be water and restrooms on the course.

COURSE INFO
The course begins at Shoreline Middle School, runs down 17th Avenue and then follows East Cliff Drive to Pleasure Point. At Pleasure Point, participates will turn around and run the same way they came back. 5k runners will run to Pleasure Point and back ONCE. 10k runners will run to Pleasure Point and back TWICE. Family Fun Run participates will go to 26th Avenue and then turn back.

State Park Pigeon Point Light Station

The Pigeon Point Lighthouse is currently under repair, but that doesn't mean that the First Order Fresnel Lens can't shine! The Fresnel lens, the original lighthouse beacon, will light up once again from its temporary home in the Visitor Center. As dusk settles, the 24 beams of light provide a dramatic glimpse of how the lighthouse once guided ships passing by this rocky coastline. Bring a flashlight and join us for a unique experience. Events made possible by Coastside State Parks Association and California State Parks.

The 2019 Pop-Up Breakfast Series is coming our way! Once again the Westside Farmers' Market will host three of these farm-to-table, ticketed events. Market Match

Market Match offers farmers' market customers a dollar for dollar match up to $10 on their CalFresh (food stamp) cards at the Felton market.  If a customer swipes their CalFresh card for $7, they get $7 of Market Match for free, swipe $10, you get $10. The goal of this project is to encourage CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) recipients to take advantage of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. SCCFM will be offering the Market Match program for the 2019 season. By offering an incentive that lowers the price of fresh produce, we are helping shoppers stretch their food dollars while keeping their families healthy. Locate the information booth and the market manager to redeem EBT coins and to take advantage of the Market Match incentive.
