Five concerts and a special Family concert are planned for the 2008-2009 symphony season.

“Music Director John Larry Granger has been quietly building the Santa Cruz Symphony into an orchestra, which is one of the finest in California... Under his direction, he seems to be especially successful in bringing out the best in his musicians, plus his programming is consistently interesting.” - Peninsula Reviews

THE COLORS OF MUSIC
February 28, 2pm - Mello Center, Watsonville
March 1, 2pm - Santa Cruz Civic

How composers "color" a piece of music by using specific instruments or combinations of instruments is explored by the Santa Cruz County Symphony, led by Maestro John Larry Granger, as they present the Family Concert of the season, "The Colors of Music." The orchestra welcomes members of the Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony to share the stage, creating the largest philharmonic on the Central Coast of California. The concert is presented in a highly accessible style, using elements of humor, movement and audience participation.
