RESPONSIBILITY - RESPECT - LEADERSHIP  SPORTSMANSHIP - TEAM BUILDING

(A Mar 16) SammySlugCampField.jpgThese are the 5 camp tenets of the Sammy Slug Summer Camp offered by the Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports (OPERS) for boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grades. Based at the East Field House, this camp will be offered in one-week sessions from June 27th to August 19th.

There are half day and full day options, and pre-camp and post camp care available. The camp activities will include a variety of sports such as basketball, tennis, frisbee, and soccer, outdoor recreation such as hiking and swimming, and other arts, crafts and outings to keep the campers engaged, active and creative. With a ratio of 10:1 with our staff, the camp will be focused on creating a safe environment with a program designed and implemented by experienced recreation professionals and staffed by UCSC students. All staff will be screened through a criminal background check, certified in First Aid/CPR and trained in safe practices. Staff will also be trained in age-appropiate activities and motivational strategies, and bring over-the-top enthusiasm with an emphasis on FUN!
