The Art Factory is an all ages art studio in the tranquil Redwood Village of Aptos.
For Kids: After School Art Classes, Homeschool Art Classes, Art Parties and Half day or full day Spring and Summer Art Camps.
For Adults: Mom's Nights Out, Art or Jewelry Making Parties, Adult Classes taught by Santa Cruz Open Studios Artists and a Monthly Studio Sale featuring fabulous art and gifts made by The Art Factory Artists Guild Members.
Parties info: Your Art Party at The Art Factory Includes: 2 hours, 10 participants for $235. Each additional participant is $20. 1 hour+ of studio work time, 1 hour of food, cake and gift opening on the tranquil redwood deck.
Art projects can be tailored to your particular interest. Kids love insect, fairy, robot and outer space parties. Create paintings, collages, t-shirts, aprons, fairy wands and wings, etc. Teens and adults love jewelry making parties. Together we'll choose the activity that best suits your group.
Home School Art at The Art Factory
Art is a cross-curricular experience at The Art Factory: Each lesson has direct links to one or more of the following: Art History, Geography, Biology, Mathematics & Social Studies. Ongoing dialogue and opportunities for sharing enrich each class while the students study from live or preserved models from nature. Mediums in all classes include, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media collage. Small class sizes ranging from 2 to 8 students.
Biography: Yvette Contois has been giving art lessons to adults & children since 1990. Her artwork has been featured in juried exhibits since the 1980s, and her commercial art has won national & local recognition. She received her Bachelors in Fine Art and K-12 Art Teaching Certification from Rosemont College, PA, & an Associate Degree in Visual Communications & Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Her guiding passion is bringing art into the lives of her students. Yvette recognizes the value in children creating art as "historical documents"; representing their thoughts, processes, developmental stages and creativity. Process and positive, supportive art experiences always come before product.

We offer three spacious state of the art studios with sprung floors and the same Marley dance surface used by the Royal Ballet. IAD continues to provide the highest caliber training in a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere. Many of our instructors have been successfully training and coaching professional dancers in Santa Cruz for over 20 years.
International Academy of Dance Director and Staff consider physical, mental and emotional wellness to be of utmost importance. Dragon Slayers is a an innovative, animal therapy program for the physically challenged children and adults, using rare and unusual animals as a medium. Teaching self-confidence, awareness and conservation, Dragon Slayers has served the physically challenged community for over 35 years.

All weekly lessons are private and tailored to maximize each student's physical and personal potential. Josef Rivers is the guiding force that inspires this school of champions. Animals
The animal lends itself as a diverse tool in this therapeutic program, adapting to our unusual methods and equipment. Each one hand-picked and trained by Josef, addresses the specific need of every student. No animal is used unless it has proven as a therapy animal: trustworthy and dependable. Hence, there has never been an accident in our program
Tours Available Mondays & Wednesdays (Birthday parties are also available for Saturdays.)
Tours are free for individuals or groups who are physically-challenged, mentally-challenged, terminally ill patients, or residents of senior communities. Tours of up to 35 people ends up being quite a value and helps Dragon Slayers provide free services for the handicapped community.

Volunteers are the backbone of this organization. By volunteering with Dragon Slayers, you can learn about disabilities, work with unusual animals, and make new friends. And you'll gain satisfaction from watching our students improve physically, mentally and emotionally.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, non-smokers, with no drinking or drug involvement as volunteers are often times role models for our students. Dependability and punctuality are a must.
