and Make Friends!

Getting out of the house to chat and play with friends is healthy for everyone in the family -mom, dad and children.  We are fortunate to have many parks and beaches in which formal and informal groups can meet. Some groups go on outings together, Seymour Center (free 1st Tues of the month), lunch at a family friendly restaurant, some form meetings around learning another language.

On our website there are two sections where you can find other parent/child get-togethers! Our Weekly Events section has many ongoing groups, playgroups and classes. To name a few:

  • Homeschooling Parents Support Group
  • Positive Discipline for Preschoolers
  • Divorced Fathers Network
  • Together in the Park(s)
  • Kids At Play

When you type in your email address, it won't show but interested parties can click on email and connect with you. See you in the parks!

Lost parrot tells veterinarian his name and address!

Can your little one do the same?

(Site Photos) Yosuke.jpg

When Yosuke the parrot flew out of his cage and got lost, he did exactly what he had been taught — recite his name and address to a stranger willing to help.

Police rescued the African grey parrot two weeks ago from a neighbor's roof in the city of Nagareyama, near Tokyo. After spending a night at the station, he was transferred to a nearby veterinary hospital while police searched for clues, local policeman Shinjiro Uemura said. He had kept mum with the cops, but after a few days with the vet began chatting.

"I'm Mr. Yosuke Nakamura," the bird told the veterinarian"  The parrot also provided his full home address, down to the street number, and even entertained the hospital staff by singing songs.

"We checked the address, and what do you know, a Nakamura family really lived there. So we told them we've found Yosuke," Uemura said.

The Nakamura family told police they had been teaching the bird its name and address for about two years.
